Why should I book through Episode – Travel with Art, rather than booking the trip myself?
There are four main reasons to book through us.
1 – Our first hand knowledge of Portugal
2 – A single point of contact for all your arrangements
3 – Value for money
4 – Originality
The Episode Travel team has spent a long time sourcing and selecting the very finest hotels, restaurants and activities in Portugal and has first hand experience in every tour we offer.
We have negotiated agreements with our suppliers (hotels, restaurants and activity providers) that mean our margin is below the line. As a result, we are confident you should never pay more to go on an Episode tour than you would when arranging the trip independently - of course assuming you had the time to research, plan and book the trip in the first place).
We have developed a specialist network of consultants and experts in their individual fields who enrich and illuminate Episode tours adding touches of sophistication and originality.
How “original” are the Episode – Travel with Art tours?
Private estates, churches set in secluded locations, manor houses, palaces and private art collections all open their doors for us ensuring that Episode tours are truly original.
On Lisbon tours, we organize an evening walking tour in the Bairro Alto led by an Art Historian. Our contemporary art programs include exclusive visits to artist ateliers.
Visiting country estates for tasting on Art & Wine programs takes you behind the label conversing with wine makers who intimately understand their lands. As you taste the wines, your experience is enriched not only through learning about the essential nature of the wines but also through the history, traditions and interesting facets of local culture.
Is there a Tour Leader on all Episode – Travel with Art Tours?
Yes, for all programs we advertise on our site or in our brochure. The Tour leader, with her/his knowledge, charm and connections is a key factor in making each trip unique.
Is the Tour Leader going to speak my language?
Yes, for the tours we advertise the Tour Leader is chosen by his/her expertise on the theme of the tour and the language required by the group, whether this is English, German, French, Italian or Spanish. Otherwise the tour is conducted in English. Russian speakers are also available.
For tailor made tours, we can cater for other languages.
Am I going to join a group that includes several nationalities?
Usually no. We organize the tour in order to form small groups of the same nationality but as a requirement asked about on the booking form, mixed nationality groups can also be organized.
If so, what is going to be the language spoken by the guides and tour leaders?
In the case of mixed nationality groups, we cater for the common language, which can be any of those offered. In some cases, we may have a Tour Leader who speaks more than one language.
How many people travel on your tours?
Our maximum group size is 22. We have, at times, operated tours with as few as 4 people, but our minimum size is usually 8. The average group size is about 12.
Are Episode Tours child-friendly?
